I painted both fully assembled. It's a real bitch to try to reassemble a freshly painted gun. And its another way to prevent messing with your tolerance critical areas. Post pics when you are done!

Sure First scuff up the smooth surface of the stock with some 80grit so that the paint grabs. Mask off the recoil pad, receiver rails, and plug the crown. Wipe down the parts with some kind of degreaser. Be careful to avoid tolerance critical areas. If you paint the stock alone, DONT hit the contact...
