Re: Can you request which Battalion to go to?
It's based on manning and needs of the Regiment. If 90 studs graduate, 30 could end up in each battalion, or 90 could all go to 1 or any mix in-between. If I remember correctly people got to make a 'wishlist' but I don't remember how they decided who got their preference and what not. But now that i...

'Welcome Home' Documentary
Looks like it'll be pretty interesting. "Welcome Home" is a new series which tells the story of Vietnam Veterans, from all branches of the service, in their own words. It is scheduled for release in 2015, the 40th anniversary year of the end of the War. It is a thank you -- and a welcome h...

Re: Ranger Students tackle Obstacle Course
Malvesti I thought was fun, compared at least to the rest of RAP week. And I like how at the end she only mentions studs receiving major/minor minuses, because we all know major/minor pluses don't actually exist.

160th SOAR CW5s, of Black Hawk Down legacy, retire
This ceremony had an even greater significance than most others. After all, CW5 Karl H. Maier and CW5 George “Billy” Cook had more than 70-years of combined Army Service — with more than 50 of those years spent as Night Stalkers. “During Gothic Serpent, Karl was awarded the Silver Star for his role...

We used to drive through there going TDY to Tampa and thankfully one of our compadres was a native Floridian from the area and would give us the heads up on these clowns.

Re: Badass of the Week
The prisoner of war had been tortured for 10 months and beaten repeatedly by his North Vietnamese captors in recent days, and there were threats of more if he did not respond properly when the propaganda broadcast began. Haggard but gritty, Cmdr. Jeremiah A. Denton Jr. slumped in a chair before the...

I guess Obama never got the memo from the Brits when they all but depleted their stockpile of Brimstone missiles during the Libya conflict.

Hopefully it has the impact he's hoping for. Sounds similar to the 'Veteran Treatment Courts' that have been popping up. They are doing quite amazing things for vets as well.

Update: Three U.S. families filed a lawsuit Tuesday against Afghan President Hamid Karzai and his security forces, accusing them of betraying their sons in the Aug. 6, 2011, helicopter shoot-down that killed 30 Americans, 17 of them Navy SEALs. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/mar/18/familie...
