Re: Introduction Ricky

Hey guys my name is Ricky and I'm 18 years old. I enlisted with an 11x option 40 contract. I've always wanted to be a ranger since like the 8th grade. I ship out this June and would like some advice on Rasp. Here are my scores physically. 2 mile run- 11:58 Push-ups- 83 Sit-ups- 87 Pullups- 18 5mile...

Re: Opt 4/40 at OSUT

Welcome. Many variables in play here. Why not ask your recruiter to Reno and get you 11X Opt40? If he says there are none, he's not looking deep enough. If it's possible (I'm no recruiter), drop your contract until he does find you one. It is possible to receive a RASP slot in OSUT, but chances are ...

Re: Congress to make 29 March VN Veterans day

While I see this as a nice gesture, I would so much rather see the .gov finally start to actually care for their Vietnam Veterans. In what fucking world should a homeless Vietnam Vet sleep in a cardboard box all year even in in climate weather, while illegal aliens show up here with forged paperwork...

Re: Just finished Ground Week

This turd should be banned. For whatever reason after all the help and patience he received here he decided to come in one afternoon and piss all over the furniture while giving us all the middle finger.

A Private in the 82nd feeling a little salty after a year in service. Fuck him.

Re: Introduction - Mike G

This is a cut and paste that I just posted for another new guy, it fits you as well. Message follows; Welcome and good for you for sticking to your guns. If that is what you want, wait it out, you're young, the Army and The Regiment will still be there when a list of Opt 40's opens up. It could be t...

Re: Just finished Ground Week

Here's what I see, after all the hoorah about wanting to be a Ranger when you came here, to then getting DX'd for sleeping during the course. You get sent to 82, admit to us, or at least tell us your version of the story and we still accept you here because it seems you have integrity and are maybe ...

Welcome and good for you for sticking to your guns. If that is what you want, wait it out, you're young, the Army and The Regiment will still be there when a list of Opt 40's opens up. It could be that there are Opt 40's available right now, but the recruiters either don't know how to get them, can'...

Aren't these just the old very heavy steel plates? Now sort of common in the civilian world due it's low cost?

Re: Introduction

Dwelt these guys are exactly right and they have a boatload of experience. Listen to them, follow their guidance to the letter. Most of us older guys had absolutely no idea what we were getting into when we signed up for Batt. And we paid dearly for it, as young dumb privates we were (at least I was...

Re: Introduction

I would venture a guess that you'll receive more leadership responsibility during your time there, as well as added scrutiny towards that. I won't presume to know what the RI's will think, but common sense tells me that because you're a Sgt, and dependent on your MOS, you'll quickly be taking a tea...

Welcome. First bit of advice I will offer is to stop typing like you're texting your friends. Attention to detail is key here, and your initial post is painful to read. I understand you're only 16, and good on you for having the forethought to take this step in your life, make It easier on yourself ...

Re: Introduction - Pope

Pope, Congrats on securing a chance at earning a scroll. Kind words complete. From August to January your improvement has been extremely lacking. If you truly wish to earn a place in the Ranger RGT you have to seriously increase your scores. Don't reply with apologies, just fix the problems. You ha...

Re: Plate carriers

Great update thank you. Everything I've read or heard about them as a company and their gear has been very positive, I'm glad that rings true still. Have been using some of their pouches for a couple yrs now and I thought they were flimsy/cheap looking when I saw them too, they've held up really wel...
