Re: Women in Combat Arms Roles
Excellent input Ranger fatboy. How would you feel about the argument that there is far more to being an infantryman than what the Army PFT tests? So even if fitness standards were made equal for combat arms roles the test couldn't accurately test a woman's ability to carry a man and his gear or an ...

Re: Women in Combat Arms Roles
The opposing side regularly makes the argument that if a female can perform to standard then they should be able to do the job. Problem is, they will not go to one standard to settle the issue. Currently there is a male standard and a female standard. Everything from fitness to hair styles. The only...

Re: Women in Combat Arms Roles
FWIW, most of the detailed conversations on this topic have taken place in the secured areas of this site. Not going to run through the cons, but you mention "equality" in your comment above. I'll say this - it's not equality if it's handed to you. Case in point. Screw diversity and equal...

Re: Women in Combat Arms Roles
Interesting question. Instead of spoon feeding you answers, I will ask 2 questions of you: 1. Have you actually searched this topic out on this website? Seems to me that it may have been mentioned once or twice around here. 2. What are YOUR thoughts on women in combat arms- what are the pros and con...

It's bull shit that they are stalling and dragging this out still. Where is the justice for the Soldiers that died or were injured while looking for that piece of shit?
The only hope is that the next CINC actually allows the prosecution to happen.

Good luck fighting the good fight over there. Sounds like the fighting is (or will be) getting close to your area.

Re: Best Ranger 2016 Promo
I caught the last little bit of the livestream for the final buddy run. The 1st ID team killed it speed wise. Too bad they were too far out points wise for it to do any good. I think it was a 4 point or so difference going into the final buddy run between 1st and 2nd places. Good job for all of them...

Another option is Trijicon HD sights. They have a neon orange or neon yellow front sight with a green tritium insert and the rear is solid black with green tritium inserts. On a bright day, the orange front sight almost glows. I use them on my duty gun. Option two if you don't mind spending some mon...

Re: Best Ranger 2016 Promo
I've been watching the live feed from the competition off and on today. Just saw the first team to cross the finish line on the road march. Team 1, from the 1st Infantry Division, appeared to be the winners so far. I believe one of their team members also placed in the top 3 the last two years, but ...

Re: Tunisian Army
Just stumbled on this thread. Hadn't had a lot of time to hang out here because I'm currently in Bagram saving the world and stuff. Like fatboy I spent some time in Tunisia but a little later, around February 2002. Same deal though. 173rd used to do a semi-regular training exercise with the Tunisia...

I was just going to ask something similar. Maybe they can get a mixed pairs team so they don't feel left out.

Re: How do you answer?
I grew up reading books about guys like you Jim, Lefty, and Gary Dolan. Books about Six Silent Men, and Charlie's Rangers, books about the 1st BDE LRRPS. Hearing rumors of places like Grenada and Panama. I watched Desert Shield and Desert Storm on TV. Knowing that there were guys like that were out ...

Waze? Seriously???? Damn Israel, you should be ashamed of yourselves for using that app........ Google Maps would have been a better choice. You laugh about Google Maps, but I actually had to use them for mapping on a Battalion obective because their imagery was better and more current then w...
