Re: Introduction

Welcome and good luck on your journey. Regiment is a very different animal than any other unit or service out there. If you make it, you will be challenged daily. You should, if you haven’t already, ask your friend to grab you a Ranger HandBook and a Blue Book and start studying them anytime you can...

Re: Question about status of early Rangers.

Without getting into the nuances of Tab v Scroll, as this is not that (it’s an age old question), I can’t think of anybody better to be able to pin on your sons Scroll for him and I’d be proud to watch it not knowing any of you if I was in the crowd. I would also ask your Grandfather to present to y...

Re: ALL MEMBERS - Ranger Jim

You are a bit late. Rest Easy Ranger Jim. At details on his service at Arlington? I would be honored to be there to bid him farewell if at all possible. RLTW! x I think the confusion may lay in the post put up on 30 Aug 18. https://armyranger.com/forum.html Combine that date with the part at the bo...

This has been discussed here numerous times before over the years. Do some searching around and you should find some answers.

His name is not “Ranger Charlie”, research the screen name he uses and you’ll understand a little better.

Re: Introduction-Kenn

Ya, I can think of a lot of things I’d rather do than hang out with my old CO and a couple of SEAL’s.
IE: get a bad haircut, brush my teeth with sand, throw rocks at seagulls, slap myself in the nuts with a brick, etc etc...

Re: Introduction-Kenn

Humility, not arrogance, is a Ranger trait. Honestly the majority of stories (fiction) I read where the one man army takes on a drug cartel or other group are not believable at all, unless extremely well done. A story like this would be better suited for a squad of old Ranger buddies gathered togeth...

Re: Would you use...?

Nobody wears underwear in the jungle. Don’t forget foot powder, wool socks stored in ziploc bags, bug juice, and a water filter or tablets. Don’t know anybody that would wear those old heavy black leather issue boots either. Complete crap. On top of his 10 loaded mags he would probably carry another...

Re: Introduction- Avonte

Welcome. Decent intro. There’s plenty and I mean plenty of info here for you to learn from and will help guide your process. You should take a full APFT as soon as possible so you can see exactly where you stand with it. That gives you a baseline so you can see how you progress with your training. W...

Re: Jump Boots Around Ft Lewis

Anyone know a good place to buy new jump boots around Ft Lewis? My Ranger son has checked out the Foxhole but says they only have used ones. And he doesn't know if broken-in is better or not?? So, if anyone has a clue, clue me in and I'll pass it along, he's not getting internet right now, otherwis...
