E 1/19, huh? I'm Kitchen from B 1/19. If you don't know, ask Taylor. He's a restart from Bravo now in your company. While you're at it, ask him if he wants to play gin rummy for some money - you'll thank me later.

It was just the repeated pounding from constantly running and rucking. I was in shape and active before I came in, but it's still not the same. I was only able to stay in for 10 months. Edit: To elaborate a bit, there's a difference between hurt and injured. When you're hurt, suck it up and drive on...

Well, unfortunately, my injuries were worse than they thought. I fought it, tried for an MOS change as well as anything else I could think of just to stay in, but it was to no avail. I got med boarded out, and I'm home on PTDY now. My discharge date is 16 Sept. I'm not ready to be a fucking civilian...

I go back home to Ft. Benning in the morning. I'm ready to finish this and get back to military life. Thanks for all you do here. I'll post again when I get my jump wings.

I was in B 1-19. We got 4 or 5 passes through the cycle, and a couple other companies got more. Our first pass was at week 5. It sounds as though things have gotten a lot more lax when it comes to getting a few hours to hang out at the rec center/px. I can't speak for other battalions.

Just remember your 80 push ups is most likely not a Drill Sergeant's 80 push ups. Keep knocking em out. If you can, find someone who is in the Army now to watch and grade you while you do it. I wasn't going anywhere near low enough when I shipped. There were reps on my final PT test where my chest h...

Thanks for all your support. Learning as much as I could from this site before shipping definitely made a difference. To all you DEPpers, just remember to keep your mouth shut, do what you're told, and NEVER quit. Somebody always has it worse than you do, so when it gets tough, grab your balls and d...

Ranger Bell,
Actually I'm happy with going to the 82nd for now. I believe experience in a line unit will really help me out when and if I attempt to PCS to the 75th. Thanks for all you and the other Rangers on this site do.

Home from OSUT

Well, I graduated, but I'm home on convalescent leave now. I ended up with bilateral sprains and stress fractures in both knees during the training but drove on to finish the Eagle Run, Bayonet, and the rest of my graduation requirements. I graduated 27 Feb, but they kept me around for a couple week...

Ranger Neves, I'm 22. I am leaving behind everything I know prepared to relearn how to do everything I thought I already knew how to do the Army way. I have a year of college credit under my belt, but I've been working fulltime and paying my own way through school as I've been able to afford it, so ...

I'm a DEPper. My contract right now is just 11x airborne. My recruiter has promised me RIP by the end of the month in my contract (hoping for a January ship date). If he doesn't deliver, I'll have to reno and head back down to MEPS. I told him he's got until 9/1.

I second that. I have that book. It's full of great information, and if you're not the reading type, it's got lots of purdy pictures too.
