Re: After 100 Years, Are The Boy Scouts Still Relevant?

I think it's relevant, but I don't like how it's handled here in Utah. In Utah, the Mormon church sponsors just about every troop, so there's some Mormon indoctrination that occurs. I do think as long as the Scouts continue the tradition of teaching outdoorsmanship, basic ethics and working with ha...

Re: After 100 Years, Are The Boy Scouts Still Relevant?

I was a Boy Scout for about two weeks in Florida, then I discovered girls. Having established by non-Boy Scout credentials, I think the Boy Scouts have been pussified and turns off those who wish to join. My opinion is based upon doing demonstrations with the Boy Scouts over the years. When a Boy S...

Re: Questions regarding rucking..

The problem with all Military rucks?...they are too large and don't force packing discipline for service members or their chain of command. One trip to the field should cure that or else you have a slow learner. I know I had a list of stuff outside of the RSOP that I took with me and it got reevalu...

Re: Who were the greatest military leaders?

Robert The Bruce. Hollywood did him a great disservice in Braveheart. Bannockburn was not fought immediatley after Wallace died, it was actually the seventh major engagement and he was defeated the first six times. He was hiding in a cave after his most recent defeat with English patrols hunting hi...

Re: What's In Your DVD Player

Since I am home for a couple of weeks I just caught up on Taken, Quantum of Solace, Gran Torino and Appaloosa.
Appaloosa was sort of a wierd western. I think the story line would have worked better in another setting.

I can save them some time 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2.
