Re: Prior Service hypothetical
You should be able to amend you contract in OSUT, as any other Soldier could. However you should not be able to get the contract oming back in. My opinion, especially given today's recruiting market, is that you may have trouble coming in anyway so ask what you want and if you can get it then it's a...

Welcome to the site.
Shops guys in the 160th work at the peak of their ability and it's not everyday you find someone with the ability to get (or stay) there.

Prodigy, congrats on your achievements thus far. Remember to pay attention to things while you are out the in the fleet. Ranger Ingraham's statement of "more ways to skin a cat" is more true than you can imagine. Look forward to hearing about your progression.

Yeah the color blind thing can suck when you're looking for ABN or Option 40. I wish you good luck and whatever you decide; just remember to go as hard as you can.

SITREP: After months of dodging pure bs from recruiters and searching for the "elusive" option 40, I went up to Albany and successfully Reno'd my 11x option 4 to include a 0 after the 4. I was very anxious sitting in that office hoping that everything wouldn't somehow fall through; regard...

Re: Medical Waiver Question
The Army doesn't give a shit if some "doctor" would like to speak with them concerning the qualification of a certain individual to enlist. His opinion has no bearing on whether or not the Army is willing to accept him as fit for service. The idea that he would be able to sway the Army int...

I have never heard this.
Are you 100% sure you have a waiver to take the ABN physical AFTER you ship?
Do you have the reservation sheet of your contract?

I was approved to forgo the airborne physical at meps and given an opportunity in the army most said would not happen. Just letting anybody know who had medical issues that one should never give u...

Re: DEP'ing Into the Army
Thank you, Ranger cdwdirect for posting such an informative thread to help us get what we want. My only question is that since this was posted 6 years ago, how much of this still applies? I read in another thread that they are tightening the belt on the Opt. 40 and a Ranger recommended to a DEP tha...

I know that the only stipulation with Braces was that they had to be off prior to shipping and you had to provide a note from your dentist stating he would remove them. In the case of a removable retainer, there is nothing required. Your case is slightly different in that there is hardware, but I ha...

Re: Recruitment Process thus far.
I honestly do not remember if you will need a waiver for this. I am under the impression you will, and it may hamper your chances, but I can't be sure in this case.
Hopefully, Goon175 will chime in with some advice for you to clarify.
