Re: Geotags and Location-Based Social Networking
To be fair, I think it'd be funny to see some Joe become the "Mayor" of "Sniper Hide #2" or something stupid like that. If I was their SL, I'd be laughing really hard as I smoked the shit out of them and then made them delete their FourSquare account.

Re: Geotags and Location-Based Social Networking
I can kind of see the concern, but don't really see the OPSEC violation part of it. Any photo that violates OPSEC is going to do it regardless of whether or not there's a geo-tag in the meta-data. I mean, what's the concern here? That soldiers are going to post up photos of the inside of their FOB, ...

While I'm not a big fan of the government telling people what to do, public schools seriously need to clean up their lunch menu. Pizza and french fries for lunch 5x a week is bullshit.

About the only inside info you need about the UK is that Orange is the name of a mobile phone company over there.
Dongle's just a tech term.

Re: 8 Soldiers killed in Afghan insurgent raid on FOB Keating
The base, in an eastern Afghanistan valley, was surrounded by ridge lines where the insurgents were able to fire down at U.S. and Afghan troops. Seriously? I realize that no location is perfect, but that seems like a seriously bad spot, tactically. Most of the pictures in that story are old, but it...

Re: ACLU wants to remove WW I memorial in Mojave Desert
Y'know, as an atheist and as a moderate (which around here is about as close to a flaming liberal as you can find), I say fuck them. If there was an Iraq War memorial being built, I'd ask that it not contain any religious icons. If it were to be a single symbol in the middle of a desert, a single la...

Might want to hold off on getting a new laptop for a month or two. There's a good possibility that MS is going to start letting OEM companies distribute computers running Windows 7 soon. http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/05/best-buy-memo-explains-that-vista-doesnt-work-details-windows/" onclick=...

I can't help wondering........ was she hot!?! NO! You can watch the video of her interview if you want. Thats was what I was wondering too I'd give her a 6/10: vaguely cute, not much above average. Also the video gave the size of the rocks that she was chucking; they were about football-s...

Re: $250 Stimulus Check For Retirees, SSI and Disabled Vets
Just got my warning order in the mail from the VA on this. "This payment will not affect the amount of your regular VA benefit, or any other Federal benefit, nor will the Internal Revenue Service consider it as taxable income. " Sweet. Now the only question is: 1 $250 hooker or 250 $1 hook...

Neither Georgia nor Washington required me to do anything but fill out forms and pay fees to get my permits.
