Good advice given already. I graduated from RS last year with a number of CS/CSS officers and even a couple non-special operations AF types. It doesn't matter what your background is as long as you pull your weight, don't bitch and make a positive contribution to overall mission success. No one is g...

1. Re-read RRDTm3's post 2. As one of the few ARNG officers to complete RS last year I will tell you that getting Orders is very difficult for non-Infantry types. Hell, in NY they even give us Infantry guys a hard time about going. They don't like spending the money. Very few O's in the higher ranks...

The changes make sense as a time saving measure less stuff for 4th RTB RIs to deal with, but WTF. Part of the beauty of the school is doing alot of things under time duress and while fatigued. I remember last year doing my APFT and then having 15 minutes to change into my BDUs out in the parking lot...

In my class, the Batt boys recycled at the same % as IOBC Officers. I don't know how it was in the past, I can only speak of the two classes I was apart of, 02-06 & 03-06. But there were just as many Batt Boys that recycled as us, they had about 30% first time go rate too. Also, the RIs seemed t...

The only officer stat that I know for a fact is that of all O's that start Ranger, only 30% make it straight through without recycling at least once. Colonel Chinn used to tell us that one alot and it was proved true with my Ranger class. Most IOBC O's I know ended up graduating, eventually. My IOBC...

His 8 hour pass will be this Friday, if he made it through Darby. If he's a recycle we won't hear from him until Sunday, when the recycles get their pass.

Underarmour T-shirts are authorized in Ranger School now. I know they aren't on the updated packing list, but we've worn them with RTB's consent since class 01-06.

I told you so idiot...........................By the way, I can personally walk on 2-3 studs per class. He speaks the truth, I saw him do it with a SPC assigned to ITB. One of the reasons why IOBC is losing slots now goes back to RS class 02-06 that started in October. That class took in most of th...

New Ranger

Greetings, New Ranger qualified officer here. This website was pointed out to me by a friend. I've enjoyed reading some of the postings here over the past year and now that I've finished School I thought I would register. I was commissioned into NYARNG as an Infantry branched 2LT this past May. I ha...
