Re: Introduction- Nathan

Great job on that asvab. As usual im rolling in a little late, but as far as your pt goes, I think you just need to get the elevation and hills out of your head. You seem to be focusing on that a lot and are almost using it as an excuse for yourself in the area of run times. Hills are gonna happen. ...

Re: Introduction- Brar

Welcome Brar, Don't be afraid to wait for what you've want. After spending over 14 months waiting to ship myself, I always said I would rather wait 6 months, a year, or longer to get what I want then spend much longer than that doing something I didn't enjoy for significantly longer than that. And c...

Re: Introduction- Anthony

Welcome to the site Anthony, From a personal trainers prospective. What you did during the past year as astonishing, and there are not many people in this world with the mental strength to be able to accomplish that, huge congrats to you. You seem to have that under control right now. Just don't loo...

Re: SITREP-Alex

Rangers, I have just landed in Seattle and will begin improcessing into fort Lewis this week. @inteltoad Airborne school was interesting going after rasp. In some ways I’m glad I did, because it gave me a look back into the regular army after several months inside the brown fence. It made me realize...

Re: Introduction- sauerkraut11b

Once your in basic, you’ll get a briefing from both a Ranger and SF liaison. If you passed your asvab with a high enough GT score you’ll be able to sign an opt 40 right there. I’ve never heard of a single guy not getting the contract who signed for it. Weather or not you go through basic again would...

Re: SITREP-Alex

As many have said before “the easy part is now over” I had that in mind to humble myself as I joined 72 others in the ceremony to become Rangers on Friday. The feeling of wearing my beret and scroll was unlike anything I’ve experienced in my life, and I know I couldn’t have gotten here without every...

Re: SITREP-Alex

Post week 7 update I passed my PT test earlier this week, and finished my RPAT with a time of 29:10. Room for improvement but I think it’s a good time to work with. I got orders to 2/75 today, so I will spend some time in post RASP and then airborne school before continuing my journey on to Ft. Loui...

Re: SITREP-Alex

Rangers, Just yesterday I came back from Cole Range. I have the weekend off before going into Phase 2 next week. All in all, things have been going well. The cadre are extremely professional. We are learning a lot, and so far I have been enjoying the training. Cole Range was a bitch and a half, but ...

Re: SITREP-Alex

Week 1 of RASP is underway, without saying too much I just wanted to let everyone know that I have started the course, and completed the first week. So far things are going well, and I am already starting to see my preparation pay off. I am excited for the weeks to come, and will post another update...

Re: SITREP-Alex

Today was my first day in pre RASP. I had a long weekend and early this morning they moved us over here. Yes Ranger Disinfertention, i have been able to link up with several other squared away opt 40 guys. Kyle from the site and I were in the same platoon during osut, and are now bunkmates at pre RA...

Re: SITREP-Alex

This Thursday I have my ceremony where I will receive my blue cord, and then Friday will be my graduation from Infantry OSUT. My APFT 5 score was a 318 At the end of the cycle I was able to talk with some guys who were in the later few weeks of RASP and one of the main things they said to work on wa...

Re: SITREP-Alex

Basic training ceremony and family weekend was great this passed weekend. It was great having some time to relax and enjoy some good food. Basic went pretty well for me, I learned a lot and enjoyed a lot of the training events but I am definitely ready to begin the infantry portion of OSUT this next...
