Re: Introduction - Michael W

Rangers, Update as it has been a while since I've posted. I have been extremely busy with work as I've been teaching 6-7 days per week for 8-10 hours a day. The times I have not been working I've been in the gym training, running, biking, and swimming. Thankfully the MRI back in July came up negativ...

Re: Introduction - Michael W

Rangers, quick update.... I fell at work a few weeks ago and am awaiting results of an MRI on my right knee (same knee as the ACL) for a potentially torn meniscus or MCL. Doctors are hoping it is just meniscus since that is an easy one and will be back in the gym in a couple of weeks. Was told no ru...

Re: Introduction - Michael W

Ranger Jim, that is very ironic! I go to the shore fairly often. I'll be down there at my parent's condo in OCMD June 16-18 for the Air Show. We take the family every year to watch the Blue Angels (or Thunderbirds).

Re: Introduction - Michael W

Thank you Ranger Disinfertention. After the initial diagnosis of pneumonia, he started some new medicine and seemed to be getting better. Then this morning he woke up and I can hear the crackling and wheezing again in his lungs with a stethoscope. So we are back on the treatment plan. Hopefully that...

Re: Introduction - Michael W

Rangers, Quick SITREP: I've been running between 2-3 miles per week and trying to work up. I've also been adding some sprint work in at the end of my runs. Since I'm not running too long of a distance (one mile each run as I strengthen the knee and muscles), I've been doing some of the sprint work a...

Re: Introduction - Michael W

Ranger IntelToad, playing only 9 holes is a sure way to break 100 :D (I'll knock out 100 for the joke)

That's what I tell the students that don't listen to me

Police Ceremony/Fundraiser - May 15th in PA

(Posting per approval by Ranger Jim) Rangers, Veterans, and members of the ArmyRanger.com forums, First, thank you all for your service. I am a former State Trooper and am considering a military career with the Ranger Regiment, hence why I am here in the forums. I am enjoying learning from everyone,...

Re: Introduction - Michael W

Ranger IntelToad, I am looking into local law enforcement also as an option, but with military being an option I wanted to continue to learn about the preparation and process that is required if the family and I decide to go that direction. I figure worst case scenario I train as if I my goal is spe...

Re: Introduction - Michael W

Ranger Disinfertention, it's a lot of fun if you like low oxygen levels and tons of coughing. (sarcasm of course - sorry I have a dark sense of humor thanks to the police dept) It's awful not being able to do anything to help him, but it is what it is. He was a preemie so unfortunately we are pretty...

Re: Introduction - Michael W

Quick SITREP: My son got worse and found out yesterday he has pneumonia. I ended up having to take off of work the last couple of days because he needs breathing treatments every four hours around the clock. You have to love waking up every 3-4 hours to give him a breathing treatment. Good practice ...

Re: Introduction - Michael W

Ranger Disinfertention, Not lame at all! I never monitored that until recently, and I just started doing it to make sure the heart rate was where it needed to be. Without working out for so long I lost track of what a "tough" workout felt like because with the knee recovery they were all t...

Re: Introduction - Michael W

Ranger Grim666, Thank you for the response. I am definitely taking it easy (easier than I would like). I am running as often as I can, but I will start to add sprint sessions in per your advice. When I do ruck, your advice is close to what I've been doing. I am rucking with 30 pounds and running a l...
