Re: Introduction- Kevin
Rangers,
Yesterday I finally signed an 18x contract. My ship date is so far out because I graduate college in December and it was the next available ship date. I'm excited to be done with that process and move on to the next.

Re: Introduction- Kevin
Ranger Fuego, It is only temporary. I am going back to MEPS Thursday to take the airborne physical and sign my contract hopefully. My recruiter was unable to pull up a contract because apparently my ship date (after December 15) was too far for him to pull a contract. He did say they should be able ...

Re: Introduction- Kevin
Rangers,
I just got back home from MEPS. I had as much fun as everyone else that has done it. I passed everything, although I have to go back Thursday to take the airborne physical. I had some blockage in my right ear which I need to take care of.

Re: Introduction- Kevin
Rangers,
I took the ASVAB today and did very well. My overall score was a 93 and my GT was 123. I leave for MEPS Thursday, and hopefully everything goes well during the physical and have my contact Friday.

Re: Introduction- Kevin
Rangers,
Went to the recruiter today to turn in the rest of my packet. I am scheduled to take the ASVAB Monday morning. After that, I just have to wait for a MEPS date when my recruiter sends them my paperwork about a molar being removed when I was 16.

Ranger Jim,
My recruiter had a ceremony he had to attend so we moved the meeting to Tuesday the 10th. I know things have been postponed a few times but this should be the last!

Re: Introduction- Kevin
Ranger Jim, I have been taking finals all week and I will be glad when my last, but hardest one, will be over Monday. So far, I will be meeting with my recruiter May 5th to turn in all of my papers and for him to set me up with a MEPS date shortly after. I am excited to get this stepping stone finis...

Ranger Jim,
As of right now, I am just waiting for the doctor that performed a tooth surgery, when I was 16, to return from vacation so he can state everything went well. I will post new pt scores Monday.

Re: Introduction- Kevin
Rangers, I have an update on the enlistment process. I went to the recruiter today, took the screening test (scored a 74), and am finishing the background check packet. That is the last form I have to complete. Since I missed my window of spring break, I will be going to MEPS soon after finals this ...

Re: Introduction- Kevin
Ranger Grim666,
I will definitely be purchasing the EMT book in the near future. It would be ignorant not to get a head start on the book they still are using. As for the med math, that is new information for me and I look forward to moving on to it after the EMT book. Thank you for the insight!

Re: Introduction- Kevin
Ranger Grim666, I have taken a semester long cpr/first responder class so I am familiar with basic first response. But I am eager to learn, even if the books may be out of my league at the moment. Also, I have taken classes in anatomy and physiology, neuromuscular physiology, and clinical exercise p...

Re: Introduction- Kevin
And by the difference in the two, I am referring to how much classroom time there is compared to if it is mostly hands on learning. I understand combat medics deal with combat wounds and clinical as well.

Re: Introduction- Kevin
Ranger Grim666, Are there any medical books you recommend I could buy to get a head start on familiarizing myself with some of the more detailed information? I am already familiar with anatomy and physiology of the body, not so much when it comes to actual medical care. I am also unaware of how much...
