Re: Swim Assessment

You can swim any way you want, except for on your back. It's really a lot easier than everyone makes it sound. Side stroke worked for me.

Re: SITREP - Yggr

Rangers, Avatar and signature updated with my unit info. Today wasn't too bad. I'm a grenadier for now until after a training event next week, then one of us 2 new guys will be moved to a gun team. My sponsor is the AG on that gun team so I hope it's me. I asked about Ranger school and my PSG said t...

Re: SITREP - Yggr

Ranger Jim, I'm in processing into Ft Bragg to be with 3rd BCT. I was waiting to post until I found out which company I'll be in. I'm really not sure what my options are going from here. GI Joe told me about F Co, 51st IN which could be a place to try out for if I can't go back to Rasp.... I also st...

Re: SITREP - Yggr

Roger, Ranger Jim. Some of the deps send me PM's with questions occasionally.

I am in Worldwide now. What a hell hole. I will be sure to update with my orders in a few days. I still feel like I got kicked in the balls but I haven't quit on myself yet.

Re: SITREP - Yggr

Ncgater, I failed it. I'm not out of the fight yet though, the retake is on Monday. The RPAT was ok. I made it over the wall really easily which is good because that was a problem area for me 4 weeks ago. My hamstrings were really sore from the deadlifts in the RAW so I lost a lot of time on the run...

Re: SITREP - Yggr

Ncgater, I ran right behind him for the majority if it. I believe he finished ahead of me. The 6 mile ruck sucked but it wasn't as bad for me as the first one from phase 1. I've gotten a lot better at rucking. I have been working a lot on pushups. I'd really like to not recycle so I'm doing everythi...

Re: SITREP - Yggr

Roger, Ranger Cams.

Rangers,

I ran my final 5 mile of Rasp in 36:25. I had a blast doing breaching this week. Our pt test is on Tuesday morning and I feel good about it.

Re: SITREP - Yggr

Ranger Cams, I got very sick after Cole Range and that knocked me back quite a bit. I chose not to go to sick call because so many people were getting dropped after going there. I'm able to breathe a lot better now and my strength is back. ncgater, The cadre have been very fair graders from what I'v...

ncgater wrote:Yggr, my son is in class with you. He said he managed to walk most of the ruck yesterday. I guess this past week went pretty quick. How were your PT scores?
My pt scores were pretty horrible for this last one.

Re: SITREP - Yggr

Rangers,

I completed my 12 mile ruck march in 2:44:06. I was a few steps behind Patriot. This week was mostly shooting again, but with new cadre. The class is down to 90 people.

Re: SITREP - Yggr

Roger, Ranger Ronin. Rangers, Week 4 has passed. I did a 10 mile ruck march, ran my 5 mile in 35:38, shot a TON of rounds with the m4 and m9. It was my first time shooting a pistol and I feel really confident with it now. On the 150 point aggregate I shot 145! Second highest in the class. This week ...

Re: SITREP - Yggr

Rangers, Another week has passed. I was shocked to see him go, but G.I.434 is gone. We did RFR, an 8 mile ruck, RAW assessment and RPAT demonstrations, and some fast roping this week. Our airborne op was canceled due to the weather but we still did the pt event at the drop zone. I have some pt (rope...

Re: SITREP - Yggr

Ranger Jim,

Our class is down to 96 after Cole Range this week. Joe is still here with me. We both did well on the land nav. It was very cold.
