Re: My Humble Introduction

I apologized in a new thread. Sorry for not respecting the regulations of this site from my rostrum, which is behind a well worn keyboard with many Ranger, Beret and PJ themed searches having passed over its keys.

My deepest apologies

I am very sorry, indeed remorseful, for calling an asshole a deu***, using an undeserved and illicit tag, and trading the smiley for an avatar that although represents the HAHO and static jumps I did during my FBI raid team and HRT summer internship, is not indicative of my personal military based e...

Re: My Humble Introduction

You guys are a snippy bunch, but I get that completely. I was destined for CIA type employment after a 2300/2400 on the SAT but then I turned rebellious and laxadaisacal for 2 years. I messed up.

Re: My Humble Introduction

It was Juvenile hall. And I was honest with the recruiters in Virginia and DC and they said I can get a waiver based upon my ASVAB scores and the fact that I never got a felony. Also, having a CEO vouch for you does not hurt.

Re: My Humble Introduction

I suppose you can ban me if it is in your power, but I didn't realize that the intros to this site would be so crass. This site will teach me about service, and I certainly can help the US with national defense just going off a self evaluation of my skillset. However, I can live with any decision. I...

Re: Which Martial Art?

I think the Ninjutsu side step sneak is a great way to silently cut the neck arteries of a guard. But what are the other three missing?

Re: Ranger Handbook

Thanks man. I actually study language, military and sociology texts for about 6 hours a day. I know more about some of this stuff than my Maritime Interdiction buddy.

Ranger Handbook

I have been trying to read 2 or 3 Army, Marines and Navy Manuals a week while taking notes. The Ranger handbook, however, is 300 pages! Would it be prudent to read the entire tome, or should I discern the most important and practical areas of emphasis? Thanks, and best of luck with any future deploy...

Re: Which Martial Art?

For stealth and espionage- Ninjutsu sneak training
For self defense- Krav Maga by 10000 miles
For kicks- Aikido or Okinawan Karate
For grappling- Judo with no 2nd place

Re: Wing Tsung (Chun)

Wing Chun (with a good instructor), is probably one of the better "hard", striking arts for women. The legend of it's founding was that it originally developed for a particular woman who had to defend her village. While I haven't practiced it myself, from what I've seen of it, there's mor...

Re: Wing Tsung (Chun)

Wing Chun is incredible at teaching Center-Line importance, and emphasizes hitting your opponent in the groin to sternum to chin to nose area. The kicks are elaborate and are too flashy and vulnerable for a street fight, but the elbow and palm strikes would destroy the average mugger. As is my sad t...

Re: My Humble Introduction

I forgot to mention that I think PJs, CTTs and CAAs are really great, but from INDOC to EMT training it seems worse than BUDs. Supposing I force out 150 push ups, 300 sit ups, and 70 chin ups with 50 Supermans a day, and 4x2min max scissor kicks, would I see real improvement, and quick?! **I also do...

My Humble Introduction

Hey Fellas, First of all I would like to thank every one of you for your gallantry and sense of pride for this country that is truly remarkable and, unfortunately, regularly unappreciated. I hope you know that your sacrifices, both mental and physical, are not lost on me. I myself am 23 years old, a...
