Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I do not feel less than equal than someone who went through RIP. I do not feel equal to the "door kickers" and combat soldiers who have deployed and engaged the enemy in combat, at least from a Ranger/Military perspective. However, kicking down doors ...

How much "smoke" training did you receive? Did you do the CWST, Road-March? 5 mile run etc.? Congratulations on passing the course btw. Did the 17 who didn't make it come up for worldwide redeployment? Ranger Bugsy: We did the CWST, 12 Mile Road March, 5 mile run, and PT test to standard....

Combat Skills Course

We just finished the 1st combat skills course, the qualifying event for the tan beret. I got my tan beret! We started with 33 and graduated 16. They basically combined all the RIP/ROP events into a two week course, and we also did the RPAT. There was a lot of good training and classes. It was pretty...

Ranger Support Company

Well to clear things up, there are no women in the Ranger Support Company. Soldiers wear the maroon beret until completion of RIP, ROP, or the Combat Skills Course. We are doing the CSC now. It consists of classes and all the graded events of RIP, plus the RPAT, and marksmanship and CQM. Those who f...

Correct. I am not, nor do I consider myself a Ranger. I am looking forward to going to RIP and getting this maroon beret off my head. I think RSC guys should go to RIP before coming to battalion. But it doesnt really matter what I think. The only thing I can do is pt pt and pt and be as squared away...

In the guys defense, as an armor officer, he probably didnt do shit for land nav. Land nav is a skill, and like most skills, it takes practice to get good at. That being said, why the hell would you go to school without being refreshed and proficient in all the skills? Here in regiment they make all...

Well, I meant nothing inflammatory. I gave the Rangers a lot of respect. I respect anyone who wore the uniform. And the Rangers on this board do talk a lot of shit. They flamed the hell out of me for my story at airborne school, and for everything since. You proved my point by honing in on that one ...

Dad, Thanks for the information except...We do not support the transferance of "hearsay" as fact. The reason I used the word hearsay is because I was personally present during a conversation concerning these soldiers and I can tell you that a few of your facts are blatantly false. It soun...

Hello Rangers, I am going to post what I have heard. Things are going to change in Ranger BNs. Support unit soldiers are being assigned to Ranger Bn's without going thru RIP. They will be able to wear the Bn Scroll of the Bn they get assigned to. They will not be able to wear the Coveted Tan Beret....
