Sometimes the guy who seems like a super stud doesn't make it due to a myriad of reasons and the guy who you figured would never make it to Phase 2 dons a Tan Beret. It is interesting.
Drive on.

Re: difference between infantry and engineer officer in rang
From the consistant ineptitude you are demonstrating, you don't even need to concern yourself with that. Try making it to a recruiter's office first without getting hit by a car. Make sure you look both ways while crossing the street. Have a good one.

No excuses, just acknowledge what people tell you.
Read much much more and post less.
This.
I highly recommend you stop now and reorient yourself. You have great resources here and a lot of time to utilize them appropriately. Get to it.

Re: Sitrep - allthegundams
Four pull ups was the standard? The Ranger PT test standard is still six chin-ups. Of course, depending on your grader those can in reality be over ten chin-ups due to the fact that even slightly moving your lower body during the repetition will cause it not to count. Pull-ups are definitely scruti...

Sounds about right.. Those cadre definitely were straight beasts on ruck marches. Keep your head in the right place because shit only gets harder and more personal when you are the new guy in batt... And you can't "hide in the back of the formation" like you can in RASP, your team leader a...

Re: Ranger Mentality in a nutshell
Sgt Kap was the ncoic for pre rasp when I went through and when he took us on runs he took the phrase "run like a gazelle" to the next level. Many feared run days. Excellent pt and it was an honor to be in the presence of such a bad ass.

Make sure you keep your head in the game.. its easy to do something when you have someone telling you to do it. The challenge comes from having the initiative to stay squared away on your own when the freedom comes. Watch the turds around you go crazy with that newfound freedom. Jump School is like ...

Re: Introduction-Jim
Hey Jim, While most companies, as in, the vast majority of them at Sand Hill, give out option 40s....my company made it a point to not give out any. They only gave out 3 18x contracts. They straight up didn't bother to take them to the liaison to volunteer, even after the brief we got from the Rang...

Re: Introduction
Understand that in addition to what Lomack stated, this forum and the SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) you are asked to follow have a greater purpose to you as a prospective DEP. The military, especially Ranger Regiment operate extensively on these principles. Think of this website as your rather...

You should make your own decisions and commit to them, irregardless of what others tell you (even your drill sergeants). Everybody has an opinion and yours should be the one that guides your path. I too was offered an 18x, just about everybody with an apft over 270 and gt over 110 was approached. I ...
