Re: opt 11x airborne opt 40 With med waiver
So I ended up passing on the contract as advised by many informed people. I have been looking for work for the last hear and have come up dry. I have little experience. I played football until I was 23 and finished my BS while working at various bars. I turn 29 in February and am thinking of just en...

Re: Enlistment with waiver ( knee scope) and still get a sho
Ranger Jim, Thanks for the response. Basically I have arthritis in my right knee. It's a little stiff sometimes but so is my good knee. after showing a certain amount of aptitude while in service would I possibly get a chance at rasp or selection even with a meps disqualifying condition. Thanks agai...

Enlistment with waiver ( knee scope) and still get a shot?
Greetings Rangers, I have not posted for a while but I was offered an 11x option 40 about a year ago that was contingent on me passing the airborne physical after basic. Although i got into the army, I was dq'd at the meps airborne physical a for having osteoarthritis in my right knee. Which doesn't...

Re: opt 11x airborne opt 40 With med waiver
Ranger ZoneIV, I agree with you on all aspects. In hindsight, this is something I have been trying to do for a few years now and I jumped at the chance to get a tryout. I have learned in my. 27 years is that when something sounds too good to be true,it usually is. I really appreciate you giving me s...

Re: opt 11x airborne opt 40 With med waiver
Ranger ZoneIV, First of thank you for your concern. Yes it does say that I have to pass the airborne physical once I'm in basic. What I have been told from sources within the Army, outside of my recruiter is that waivers are much more common once in the Army. Please let me know what you make of that...

Re: opt 11x airborne opt 40 With med waiver
Thank you Ranger goon175, I am aware that this is not going to be easy. I have spent an abundance of time beating my knee up climbing mountains, running up to 12 k in the soft sand, hard concrete etc just seeing if it will break and it hasn't. It does get a bit achey now and again, but I am still ab...

Re: opt 11x airborne opt 40 With med waiver
At meps initially I was denied to even tale the airborne physical because of 2x knee surgeries involving the same injury. My recruiter applied for another waiver for me not to have to take the airborne physical at meps. I believe I have to take it after basic. I had two chondroplasties done in 2007/...

opt 11x airborne opt 40 With med waiver
I was offered the above contract even with my medical waiver. I had two pretty serious knee surgeries. I was approved to forgo the airborne physical at meps and given an opportunity in the army most said would not happen. Just letting anybody know who had medical issues that one should never give up...

Re: Airborne Physical Wednesday
Thank you Rangergoon175,
So to clarify, if I just enlist 11x, and I figure out how to separate myself from the pack in a positive way, I most likely won't end up a mortar man, or driving a tank? Not that there is anything wrong with that, it's just not my goal.
Thanks again

Re: Airborne Physical Wednesday
Ranger Tater Nuts, Ranger Ron,
So if the end goal is to be assigned to the 75th, would you recommend signing an 11x opt 40 contract if Airborne is not specified in my contract?
Also, RangerRon, I see your location is Nebraska. I am from North Platte, NE.
Thank you

Re: Airborne Physical Wednesday
Thank you for correcting me Dntwishforitwrkforit Rangers, There is a chance I might get dq'd from the airborne physical and be offered an 11x opt 40 because of my medical history. This leads me to my question; Will not getting Airborne in my contract hinder my ability to get into the 75th? Thank you...

I have tenetively been offered an 11x Option 40. I am going to hold out for an 11b option 40 if all goes well and I pass my physical. A...
