Re: Careers for Rangers

The 2 guys that have put the military piece to...

Re: Question about airborne units
I somehow had the fortune/misfortune of ending up at 1/509th JRTC. We had all walks of life in that unit; 173rd, 82nd, 101st, 75th RGR.. There was good times and bad, but looking back on it I would say more good times. 2 weeks a month was the biggest and most intense "laser tag" game you c...

Re: I'm in the Army now!
My best advice is read more than you talk. Check out some post from a user by the name of DUG. His entire enlistment/PT/pipeline journey is listed on this board. He was an 18x but his journey is still worth reading. Hopefully you will comprehend what it takes. Also, you would be a lunatic if you did...

Welcome to the site.
DEP until Aug 1st? Is that what happens to the Army when the unemployment rate is high? I went to MEPS one week and the next I was pushing the dirt at 30th AG. Keep your nose clean and PT your ass off.

Ranger School and recycling
Rangers, During my brief time with you guys so far I have noticed quite a sigs that list multiple RS classes. I am bored at work and just thought I would ask, is recycling phases the norm in Ranger school? I remember at my unit guys would go off to Ranger school and we wouldn't see them back for abo...

Re: Introduction- Matt
Matt, 5 years ago I was in some what of the same position you are now. These Rangers have given you great advise and I hope you take it, unlike some of the others that have come on here talking about joining. I, myself, had 2 years of college when I seriously started thinking about joining the milit...

I have been out of the Army for about 3 years now, I was a 11C. After Airborne school I got stuck at 1/509 at Fort Polk playing OPFOR for JRTC. Im sure I have crossed paths with some of you guys. Feb 2006 we did a rotation with 1/75. The rotation lasted about 3 days, mainly as a DZ capture scenario....
