MLB "Tribute to Heroes"...VOTE for Forum Member
Rangers, Although I do not often post, I visit almost daily to catch up on all that’s going on with this very special community which I am humbled and honored to be part of. I suppose I don’t contribute more out of deference for those of you that have done and seen so much more throughout the course...

Re: Combat jumps since 9/11
None of this is a secret, but the closest the 82nd got in Iraq, if I am not mistaken, was the planned BIAP jump in March of 2003. The entire thing was planned, rehearsed, heavy drop platforms rigged, and, at least in my unit, individual rucks/gear was rigged as well. Plan was to jump in the 2nd BCT(...

Re: What would be your favorite knife to own?
The one I already do, and the one I carried in Iraq in 2003...Randall made Model #1 Fighter. My Dad got it for me before I deployed figuring that I might as well have something of quality and dependability in the event I needed it.

Re: RIP: Maj. Dick Winters, E Co, 506 PIR.
A true hero and a real role model to alot of young LT's who saw Band of Brothers when it aired in 2001...I know a lot of us took his example along with us when it was our turn in OEF and OIF. He can now join all his men once again the slip stream. RIP, Sir.

Re: Is Combat making Ranger school unneccesary?
I can only speak to my own experience, but having RS under my belt as a field artillery officer being assigned to an airborne infantry company as an FSO was invaluable. Its more than just the premiere leadership school of the armed forces, it allowed me, and I have to imagine other like me without a...

Re: What was Ranger School like for you?
Not all that different from many of the experiences already mentioned. However, I kinda did something that ya' never really want to do at RS...I sorta stood out, but not in a bad way. To my knowledge, somehere in the RI hooch down at 6th RTB in Eglin, painted black and gold, are a pair of my combat ...

Re: Any Ranger live along I-80.......
I'm about 10 minutes from I-80 in Jersey and, should future opportunities to get together present themselves, I'd be eager to participate should I warrant an invite. It would be a real privilege to meet all of you, and a rare chance to connect with fellow Rangers and Combat Vets. Till such time, tak...

Re: Berkeley may honor Army private accused of leaks
Predictable, but still very sad and enraging. God forbid these cowards take a second to honor the 600 Californian's and Real Patriots who have this far been KIA in OIF/OEF.

My Intro...Glad to be here
Just happened to stumble across your site while net surfing on a slow day here at work, and am glad that someone has seen fit to let me in…I’ve got a little bit different background than the vast majority of you and hope that I still “fit in” here somewhere. Anyway, I was a very young, fresh out of ...
