Re: IF you thought basic was going to get you ready...
I don't think the Army is in the wrong here. The Army is simply adapting to the times, "work with what you have" if you will. I guess I am just wondering at what point is "society" going to realize that we are gonna be on the low end of the food chain if this keeps up. But then a...

IF you thought basic was going to get you ready...
If you thought basic training was going to get you ready for RASP... think again... New York Times August 31, 2010 Pg. 1 Army Revises Training To Deal With Unfit Recruits By James Dao FORT JACKSON, S.C. — Dawn breaks at this, the Army’s largest training post, with the reliable sound of fresh recruit...

his reservation is good for 7 days, they won't let you go straight down to sign anymore, the recruiter has to 'project' them 3 days out. its gay.

haha that reminds of the rigger i went through RIP with. Apparently he was the first rigger to graduate RIP (as opposed to just going straight to batt. and wearing a maroon beret). My class arrived in savannah the day that they had the graduation ceremony for all the E co. guys who apparently did so...

Re: Intro - Mike
Welcome to the site. - Your recruiter is dead wrong about not doing college in Batt., not only can you take classes, it is encouraged (after you go to RS, as life is 'busy' for you before then) - Your recruiter probably doesn't know anything about being a Ranger, much less optempo. - He's not lying ...

A tip... If you have a home school H.S. Diploma, you will probably need 15 college credits to enlist.

"don't you think this woulda been discovered and become standard 30 years ago?" Abebe Bikila ran bare footed at the 1960 Summer Olympics Marathon and won the Gold Medal. A couple of hours before the race the decision was taken by Abebe to run barefoot, the way he’d trained for the race. Bi...

Re: Recruitment Question
From what I have seen in my limited time as a recruiter thus far, there have been more 11x opt. 40's pop up than 68W opt. 40's. Switching MOS's is always a re-enlistment option. One of our medics that I met right before I left was a former 11B who did just that. We also had a pvt. that was in the pr...

Re: Vibram Five Fingers
I guess I will go ahead and be 'that guy' on here. When I left C co. 1/75 a couple months ago, almost everyone in the company had a pair, including the 1sg and CO. They were used regularly in PT for sprints and lifting. Of course combat focused PT is and will continue to be in the boots you wear in ...

Re: Hola - Dal
Applicants enlisting into the RA/USAR/ARNG holding dual citizenship with the United States and another country may enlist; however, they may not be enlisted into an MOS that requires a security clearance. Opt. 40 requires a secret clearance. I would reccomend taking care of this as soon as possible,...

Re: Introduction (again)- Chris
You are scheduled for MEPS on tuesday... correct me if I'm wrong, but you are most likely just taking the ASVAB, and will do the phys/dep in at a later time. Your recruiter cannot pull a job reservation for you until you take the ASVAB. I would just let him know now that you are looking for an opt. ...
