I was given a four year scholarship for ROTC so after I graduate I have to serve for 8 years. The scholarship is the only way I would be able to pay for school. That is why I asked. I can still choose not to do it if it will kill almost all chances of me achieving my goal of becoming a Ranger.

???

I am currently enrolled in the ROTC program. Does this mean that if I am commisioned as an officer that I will have a very slim chance of becoming a Ranger? If this is the case than I need to rethink wether or not college is important to me at this time.

Ranger Kilted Heathen,

You were right I looked up the actual miles in my journal from the trip and the first day we only did 7 and on the secound we only did 9. Again, sorry for my incompetence I will be more thorough in the future.

Ranger Kilted Heathen,

I should have clarified that my advice was ment for the Newts, DEPers, and other wannabes. I did not mean to infer that the advice would be useful or infomative to any Ranger. I apologize for my incompetence and will not let it happen again.

First off I have never owned or seen a ruck in person. That being said I do a fair amount of backpacking and was woundering how different rucking is. With my pack on semi-rough terrain I can cover 12-15 miles a day with out any major problem for a week straight for sure. I think my pack weighs a ...
