Re: Introduction
So, I know as a member of the U.S. Army I am already expected to meet/exceed the standard. However, I am just like the other future soldiers in my aspirations to become a Ranger, so I thought I might post up some results just for the feedback. Just did a self-assessment because we have an APFT comin...

Re: Volunteering for Deployment?
Today I was told by a Career Counselor/Retention NCO that in order to get a shot at RASP/RIP I "HAVE" to reenlist under option 5. From what I've been told upto this point you just need to submit the 4187 and make sure all the paperwork is lined up. Is this NCO trying to pull a quick one on...

Re: Volunteering for Deployment?
Thanks for the advice Ranger, but is it really as simple as just submitting a 4187 and looking good on paper through PT/Awards? (not implying that is easy) Is there any way I can follow through to insure I receive my desired assignment? Or do I just wait for papers to be pushed? If it is this respec...

Re: Volunteering for Deployment?
Thanks Ranger Ingraham,
but unfortunately I do not have an aviation MOS, I am an intel analyst.
(I realize they still need analysts at the SOAR, but significantly less)
However, I would love to be at Campbell just for the greater chance of attending air assault.

Re: Volunteering for Deployment?
I would gladly deploy again for a chance to change units. Too expensive to go to any army schools while in Hawaii. :( While I'm at it, I pose a question to you Rangers. What are some things I can do to "jump start" my army career? (this is an alternate to the "how can I become Ranger/...

Volunteering for Deployment?
Just wondering if anybody here has ever volunteered for deployment? (Waiving dwell-time) Some of my immediate supervisors seem to think it would be hard to change units and deploy shortly after returning. I understand that all my MEDPROs and all the great stuff will be expired upon returning and nee...
