Re: RE-re-introduction.

Now that that's resolved, please tell us what you are doing to cut about a minute from your two-mile time. Ranger Jim: I have been running every day now and haven't missed a day in the last... 11 days. Some days I'm running twice. I'm leaving for Florida tonight and will get back the day before Eas...

Re: RE-re-introduction.

Rangers, I went back to MEPS today and finished my contract which now includes Option 40. So in summary, my final contract is 11X/ABN/Opt. 40 with an 18k signing bonus (I didn't lose it), and I leave 20090624. Thanks to everyone, and especially Ranger Disinfertention. Without the advice he gave me h...

Re: RE-re-introduction.

Rangers, I contacted my recruiter today and told him I would like to renegotiate my contract. He is complying and will be setting me up a MEPS date. I'll update everyone more as I find things out.

Re: RE-re-introduction.

Ranger Disinfertention, my recruiter didn to give me a specific timelime. However with my leaving in June and wanting to have RIP line up soon after Airborne, I would assume I should have this done no later than the end of April if I'm going to get my slot. If you could ask a liaison about this for ...

Re: RE-re-introduction.

Ok Rangers, I talked to my recruiter today and I now have a decision to make. He said that if I want to, I can have the renegotiation done. However, that will momentarily kill my current slots for Infantry and Airborne. I will lose my job, and if the job doesn't come up as an option again when I go ...

Re: RE-re-introduction.

That is correct Ranger Bill. Anything is just added to my current 11X contract. Well, 11X/ABN contract now. I think I have a little strength in this though because I'm pretty sure you can drop from the DEP at any time before your ship date. Maybe if I threaten that they will be more likely to give m...

Re: RE-re-introduction.

Ranger Jim: It has indeed been a worthwhile experience for me. There is so much information on this site that there is virtually no necessity in asking questions, for most of them can be found with a search. I have been privileged enough to read about what Infantry OSUT, BAC, and RIP are like from t...

RE-re-introduction.

Hello Rangers. I have posted two introductions before but I thought posting this one was necessary, which I will explain now. I haven't really used this site since I enlisted and plan on using it regularly again now. I am an 11X/ABN hoping to get a shot at RIP, but unfortunately I do not have an Opt...

Questions for anyone here who can answer them... What height is being used for "box jumps"? Are they just jumping from the front, the side, what? 4 count flutterkicks... could someone please explain how that is done. Lastly... anyone have a link for me to a decent, cheap HR monitor or can ...

Ranger Nomad, My run felt great and I finished the Abfidel in 10:29. Any other DEP's out there? DEP here. Ranger Nomad: Wow, these workouts are a lot tougher than I anticipated, very good. I'll post times and the sort like everyone else when I can can actually consistently finish them. Until then I...

Ranger Nomad, I just wanted to thank you for doing and this and say I will be joining as well now. After reading through some of your workouts and the responses this seems like a great idea to prepare for the Rangers, as I have also heard many units are starting to do CrossFit-oriented routines. Tha...

Thanks for the response Ranger JLTW!!!. My understanding is that as long as I'm a DEP I can add anything to my contract before I ship. I don't ship for another year. The Army counselor at MEPS told me the Airborne slots won't open back up until this October and he seemed like a pretty honest, straig...

Hello Rangers and everyone else. Quick question, hope you don't mind. I have officially secured my 11X contract (went to MEPS yesterday), however I do not have Airborne or an Option 40 yet. I do understand that I will need to get those included and what I need to do for this to happen. However, I wa...

Sorry for the delay Rangers, I just got home. My self administered APFT from today: Push-Ups: 71 Sit-Ups: 63 2-Mile Run: 16:26 Chin-Ups: 14 I think that makes my score a 228 overall, so I still have a lot of work to do. Also, I went to MEPS today and took my ASVAB. My overall score was a 90, my GT s...
