Combat Medic
I've got a co-worker that is interested in joining the Army. And after listening to me and another former Ranger he wants to join regiment. He want's to be a combat medic though. I'm all for it and have encouraged him to go for it. He went to a recruiter today and they told him the you could not get...

Re: Fayetteville Gun show
Went and walked the floor seemed really crowded to me with a lot more people standing around running their sucks than checking out the hardware. My 2 year old liked the puppies and I had to make several trips back to them to keep him interested. Although at one point every gun we walked past he woul...

Re: Good case for multiple barrels?
Nice case. Looks like a perfect fit. I hate Pelican. Storm IS the new pelican. Better latches, better hinges, better seal that won't fall out on the first deployment. I use a guy that custom cuts the foam inserts on a water jet. Did I mention better latches? Just and FYI, Pelican now owns Storm and...

If they accept the DAV card as a membership then I would say yes. However, I'm 99% certain that it needs to be a gun club. The NRA didn't count for me so I joined theirs for $25.

Re: Civilian Marksmanship Program
I never knew that you could just go there. hmmm, might be a side trip from Rendevious this year. Are these pre-approved sales or are walk-ins OK? Walk-ins are good. I was traveling through the area for work but had called in advance to see what I need to have. I walked in with paperwork in hand, dr...

Civilian Marksmanship Program
I'm pretty sure everyone will know about this but I don't see any postings on it. I had the chance to go to the CMP store in Anniston, AL about a month ago. Bought 3 M1 Garand's and 3 M1 Carbines. Ranks up pretty high on one of the greatest days of my life. The Carbines which I've been looking to ge...

The Berlin Candy Bomber by Col Gail Halvorsen
I sat next to this guy on a flight a few months ago, great guy had all kinds of crazy stories to tell. He's been actively flying a plane in 1941. The AF named a cargo plane after him.

Re: Combat jumps since 9/11
I copied and pasted this from a PDF file I have. It didn't paste in all that well but it is still readable. You can see the date of September 2006 on it so there might be something more current. It has only the publicly known jumps or air assaults. I know there were several other jumps but both Tier...

Re: Combat jumps since 9/11
I remember discussion of more than the one RRD jump... but no other ones have been granted Assualt Landing Credit... at least not yet. Yes, there has been more than one combat MFF from RRD and they have orders for them, assault landing credit awarded, whatever you want to call it. I know for a fact...

gun show
I'm going to head up there early Saturday morning so I can get back for an afternoon hike with the wife and little one. And then Sunday is football so I don't leave the couch.
The last I heard Jim's was about to loose there gun license but somehow kept it and are not going out of business.

Fayetteville Gun Show
Not sure if this is the best place to post or not. But this weekend the gun Show returns to Fayetteville. Just in time to stock up before the elections next month. And then returns in December to replenish stock if needed. http://www.cegunshows.com/ShowInformation/FayettevilleNC/tabid/71/Default.asp...
