If you want to go warrant, I would suggest dropping a packet as a civilian. You will board and find out if you get selected before you sign any paperwork or contracts. Also, this is my opinion to anyone who joins the military, and it is screw the recruiter, tell him what you want, if he won't give i...

Thanks guys, making me do my homework: Yes Chinooks can autorotate, and power on autorotations (in a TH 67) are practiced in flight school. I am not sure if 47s practice. I am not sure if there is a helicopter that cannot autorotate, provided the pilot is familiar with the autorotational airspeeds a...

Welcome! I used to work as a security manager and special security rep at my last base. We had a person in a similar situation to yours, who had filed for bankruptcy. Initially we had to suspend his clearence as a requirement, but we were working on getting it back for him when I left. After settlin...

Welcome! I was Security Forces before I saw the light... Air Force takes good care of its people, but be careful with what the recruiter tells you about Security Forces. They need cops badly, and the job isn't always so glamorous as the recruiter may make it out to be.

Thanks all!

Ranger Tenn-Rgr I am most interested in flying Chinooks or Blackhawks.

If not either of them, then the Kiowa.

Just... not... the Apache...

For any Marines...

I was at work today and was talking to a friend of mine who is now Air Force but served in the Marines. I had asked him "Do you still remember what the 'daily seven' are?" I was brutally reminded of my Air Force status as a TSgt chimed in: "Is that a lottery?" Sigh... not much lo...

Re-introduction

I have been gone for a long time, just completed a PCS. Before I start posting again I wanted to reintroduce myself and update my status. I am 24 years old, currently in the AF as a 3P0 (Security Forces). I made it through AF Pre-Ranger along time ago but never got sent to RS. I have since then comp...
