Re: 75th Rangers will take SCAR to war

My buddy has one that I got to finger yesterday. Pretty nice, I was jealous!! I'm still leaning towards a Masada (ACR) for me personally, but that project leaves something to be desired. If they come out with the ability to change calibers on the ACR (like originally advertised!) IMHO the ACR would ...

Re: Feet Going Numb while Running

There were two Armies where I was in the last part of the 70's, there was the 24th Motorized African Rifle Regiment at Fort Stuart (pretty much like the video you posted) and then there was the 1st Ranger BN at HAAF where we learned how to kick tigers in the face with our RANGER LEGS! Re: Feet Going Numb while Running

Back when we ran in jump boots, we never had these kinds of problems... :) People poo-poo that, but (here it comes) :D in my favorite book military fitness he recommends running in boots 50% of the time. I personally hate running, and think it's overated. As my favorite author says, how often in th...

Re: Push-ups. Maxng out vs. intervals.

All the below is from Nate's FREE newsletters that he used to do prior to writing his book. http://www.specialtactics.com/documents.shtml at the bottom of the page. "Push-up Rules 1. Never come close to failure except when you are testing yourself (no more than once a week). 2. Vary the reps an...

Re: Push-ups. Maxng out vs. intervals.

Lots of different and varied opinions on the subject. Me, I used to max out and go to muscle failure everytime. Then I read on here under the pullup improvements how that's a bad thing. I started reading, and educating myself. http://www.alpinetactical.com/store/ Military Fitness, by Nate Morrison. ...

Re: Difference of pace between infantry OSUT and RIP

how much is the difference of pace between OSUT and airborne school, to RIP. Correct me if i am wrong but wont OSUT and airborne school get you well used to the pace that you are going to encounter at RIP. I plan to be physically fit before I even enlist but I plan on OSUT preparing me even more fo...

Re: Feet Going Numb while Running

Dis,

In "get selected for special forces" they recommend running in shoes a few sizes bigger then what you normally wear due to feet swelling.

They recommend to try shoes on and keep going bigger til they feel like clown feet then go back a size.

Hope that helps.

Re: M4 ballistics question

ADDITIONAL QUESTION??? OK so we have been debating the sighting/zeroing. BUT..... Is the standard weapon DESIGNED to be zeroed at a certain distance???? My small owners booklet from Busmaster says to use the 25 meter zero. I get that there are ways and reason to zero at different distances but is t...

Re: M4 ballistics question

Using 55grn, with a 25 yard zero you are 5.86 inches high at 100 and 9.31 inches high at 200!! Which sucks if all you have to shoot at is a head sized target!! Using 55grn with a 50 yd zero, you are 1.39 inches high at 100, and .036 inches high at 200. Using mil 62 grn, with a 25m zero you are 5.46 ...
