The value of updating your records on your DD214 is that then Uncle Sam is maintaining them. Peoples' houses have been known to do annoying things like burn down. If your orders went with it, now you have to find someone else who was on the orders, too, so they can send you a copy.

Former Ranger business guys need to network.

I for one would much prefer to hire and work with guys whom I know can be depended upon. For those of you who have gotten out and are now in the business world, I recommend you check out this website: http://www.linkedin.com/ This is not, I say again, not a cheap plug of any kind. Linkedin is a legi...

Just my opinion: Knife fighting, stick fighting, E-Tool fighting or pick-up-a-rock-and-bash-his-head-in fighting is all very relevant. Anything that builds your skills as a warrior is something that you can learn from. Miyamoto Mushashi said that to learn to fight with a sword, learn to paint. Sound...

Thanks Centermass, that's correct I should have looked at my previous intro. I was referring to the "member" avatar note on my messages as opposed to the "Ranger" note. As I mention, not a big deal but it made me wonder if my site membership had been fully completed. I've sent Lu...

Re-Introduction

Hi there, I posted an intro a couple years ago but I seem to have lost my coveted "Ranger" subtitle. I'm not too too concerned really, but I don't want to get smoked by any of the young hooahs by mistake.

Fuck yeah I would. There is not civilian group of people (cops maybe) that you can depend on to anywhere close to the extent that you can your Ranger Brothers. The day I ETS'd at Ft. Stewart I remember asking the PAC clerk "so am I out of the army?", when she replied "yes", it wa...

Have you had any luck with this? It occurs to me that the VA most likely has an Inspector General. If all else fails, you should be able to get stuff done through the I.G.'s office. Also, we are in the 21st century. In 1989 when I got out, all records of this type were stored on microfiche. Nowadays...

Listen up.. It may be hard to swallow but dont worry about that kind of shit. Just worry about 1 step at a time, ie passing basic training and doing the best you can. That's a very good point. When you get sent to your squad, your number one task is to shut your mouth and show your Team Leader and ...

If you kick ass and learn fast AND if everything works your way you can go in six months or so. If you learn a bit slower, have a bunch of guys in front of you for slots, get deployed, get injured, etc. it can take much longer. This is one of the few things in the military which is mostly up to you,...

blacksrt4, you don't have a hair on your ass if you don't pony up and let your RIP instructors know who you are when you get there. I recommend the following: Buy a smokebomb/firework thing from some shithole in columbus before arriving. When you get your bags inspected, you will be questioned about...
