DD SITREP

I just got home for Christmas Exodus and thought I would drop a line. I have now completed week 10 and things are still humming along. We took our last PT test before we left and I got over a 270 so I should have a good chance at getting the RIP slot. I also have a good chance at Platoon honor grad ...

Thanks Ranger Doc Cook, that seems to be the best option. I will do all I can and will try to let the speculation settle a bit and just play the best hand that I have. I know that with persistence and the right attitude/performance I will get my shot. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks! I plan on doing everything within my power to get into RIP. I knew and read many times that I needed it in my contract but I was unable to. However, I feel that I am still a good candidate to get picked up and if the opportunity comes to volunteer I will be the first to raise up. Whatever it ...

Just signed on!

Well I just signed on yesterday and ship out in September 23rd. I was unable to get the option 40 due to my ortho waiver but was still able to get into Infantry. Once in, I have been told repeatedly that I will be able to volunteer for the Airborne and RIP opportunities. Getting an opportunity at ...

A little more info on my situation. I just went to MEPS ad the Dr. recommended me for waiver consideration. Now I have to wait to see if I am waived by the Army. The Ortho Dr. gave me a full GO and the MEPS Dr. recommended it so I think I am in good shape but we shall see in the next week or so.

Well another damn wrench in the plans. According to my recruiter, I am still listed a 3 on the part for my arm. I am not sure what is going on as the Dr. said everything was fine. My recruiter said that his letter will be with the packet when it is sent for the waiver.

The guy who initially looked ...

Thanks SFC Hit It ....I am waiting to see if the Dr. at the MEPS station accepts the ortho consult review and then will go in to figure out the details of my contract. I guess I can now assume that I should be able to get Airborne and Ranger in my contract. Well thanks for the help and I will let ...

I saw you compete in triathlons? I just did an Olympic Triathlon this weekend. It was a charity event for the "Fallen Soldier Fund" and it was brutal. By the time I got to the run it was 98 degrees. I still finished, just not as fast as I would have liked.....Oh yeah, nice choice in avatar.

Just got back from the ortho consult and it went well. Basically, that I am a GO. Now all I have to do is make sure I am listed with 1's across the board and then meet with a counselor and haggle.

Is that standard or is there anything I can do to change it? Also, would it be different if I went in as an Officer? My initial goal was to enlist because they would pay back my school loans however, I do have a college degree from a military school and could go in as an Officer if that would change ...
