Another letter from NoahH (RANGER)

I received the following letter last night from NoahH:

Hey, this is "NoahH" from ArmyRanger.Com. I am finally here at OSUT. We are in Week 2 right now and so far, I'm having a great time. The food here is really good. Last week, we did the gas chamber and an obstacle course. The gas chamber was pretty cool. Other than that, we do a lot of Drill & Ceremony, which sucks. There are a ton of dumbasses in my platoon and most of them have Ranger contracts. Sadly, hardly any of them even want to try. Oh well.

Anyways, DEPs, memorize your Soldier's Creed and Infantry Creed. This is a must. Also, be familiar with the M40 Gas Mask BEFORE you get into the gas chamber, unless you really want to be "that guy."

Other than that, it's really easy. The shitty part is dealing with the slugs that complain all day. Just more motivation for me. I'll report back again when I get more info for my DEPs....unless they have been acting like assholes. In that case, make them do pushups. Hell, make them do pushups anyways.

This seems to be a recurring theme in our letters from OSUT.

Yeah but that hasnt changed sense I went. The Army has to flood the system to get the few guys that get through RIP into Regt. Any Recruiter types out here know how many Option 40 DEPs it takes to keep the regt halfway full?

What's this I hear about them having tasty food? That's fucking bullshit... They need to change that ASAP.

It just isn't the same without horrible food to go along with getting up at 4am...
