Introduction- Charles

Post by Mako127 »

Hello Rangers,

My name is Charles. I am 27 years old and have for some time been thinking long and hard about shifting my life and joining the military. I have already completed College and for the past 5 years have been working in the cyber-security field with Lockheed Martin and Raytheon on several different programs. This means that I already have a TS/SCI clearance which I am hoping will increase my chances of getting the option 40 contract I'm after. I have begun talking with a local recruiter, but I have not taken the asvab or gone to meps yet. I am hoping to do those in the next month or so. I come from a very patriotic family and a large military family. My father is a retired Army Colonel and was very please that I am pursuing the path towards being a Ranger. My PT times are below. They are not the most impressive at this moment, but I work towards improving them everyday and giving up is not something that I do. I look forward to being mentored down this path and hope to meet some of you in the future in the regiment.

My PT condition is this:

In 2 Minutes
Pushups: 68
Situps: 62

2 Mile Run: 15:36

If you had read the FAQs and rules of the site then you would have realized that your response to Ranger Jim's question was incorrect. Lack of Attention to detail will get you chewed out here, cause you to do push-ups or get dropped in RASP and possibly cause someone to die in combat. Fix your response and pay attention to detail. Give everything you've got, every time you give and never, ever quit! RLTW

Oh yeah, and welcome to the site.

Rangers,

I would like some feedback on my workout and nutrition. My Workout plan is below. For nutrition I have been following a slightly modified Paleo diet. Which mostly consists eliminating dairy and grains and having as many fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins as possible.

Sunday:

Long Run Day or Ruck day 10 miles (Alice pack at 80 lbs right now) (Alternate week to week)

Monday:

Pushups, Situps, Pullups.

Tuesday:

Run and Swim

Wednesday:

Pushups, Situps, Pullups.

Thursday:

Run and Swim.

Friday:

Pushups, Situps, Pullups.

Saturday:

Swim and Sprints.

Thank you for the advisement.

The first thing I will tell you is to reduce your ruck weight to 35 pounds. Never, never quit!

Ranger Jim,

Thank you for the advice. I will reduce the weight.
Can you tell me what weight that I will be expected to carry at RASP?

Thank you.

Welcome. I'm going to strongly suggest that you PM an Admin here and change your screen name. We already have a respected Ranger member here with the screen name of Sharky, and you using 75 on the end of yours also implies service with the 75th.

Understand ruck weight is 35 lb, plus water in your canteens.
