I've been meaning to post some pics and a parts list for my "Plinker", which I built from parts based on instructions found at AR15.com. I'd love folks to use this thread to post pics of their various toys, built or bought, and give a rundown of what they are.






Pieces Parts:

• Upper Receiver: Rock River Arms AR0052BASY Forged A4 Upper Receiver Assembly With forward assist and port door
• Lower Receiver: Stag Arms 5.56 Lower with Parts Kit
• Stock: Ace AR15 Skeleton Stock - ARFX
• Stag Arms Bolt Carrier/Charging Handle
• Barrel: AR0210ASY 16 Inch Mid-Length Heavy Barrel Assembly, 1:9 Twist (no front sight post/gas block)
• Flash hider: AR0001A2
• Forearm: YHM-9603 - Four Rail Free Float AR-15 Forearm
• Gas block: Front Flip Sight Tower - YHM-9394 (removed sling swivel)
• Sling swivel stud - YHM-9469
• Rear BUIS: A.R.M.S. #40L Low Profile Rear Sight
• Folding Forward Grip: YHM-9560
• Rail Covers: 4361-3PK
• Holographic Sight: EOTech 512
• Laser/Light: Surefire X400
• The sling is a standard AR sling that I modified with spare parts from an old laptop bag to make it "tactical"
• Sling mounts are $10 Walmart QD Swivels.

I went with the mid-length gas system for a couple reasons. Primarily because my research had shown that wear & tear was significantly less than a traditional 16 inch barrel. The secondary reason is because the muzzle to gas block length is the same as an A2, and therefor a bayonet mounts properly. You know, in case I run out of ammo while shooting cats or something.
