hsauce - Ranger Parent

Post by hsauce »

Hello Rangers,

First I would like to say I have great respect and gratitude for all of you that have and are serving this great country.
To introduce myself I am a police officer with 32 years of service and the parent of two sons serving as E-5s at Ft. Benning 3/75. My youngest has been a Ranger for 4 years and is on his 5th deployment. My oldest has served 6 years as an 11- Bravo with 3 tours in Iraq with 3rd and 4th I.D. He graduated from the last RIP class before it turned into RASP. He was then rushed into Ranger school 45 days later. He just finished Florida at Elgin and will graduate this Friday. He was recycled in mountains due to an infection in the fat tissue of his knee that seems to be a common Ranger school ailment.
They are following a family tradition other than I am the only male that did not serve in the Armed Forces. As you might be able to tell I am very proud of my sons. My wife and I feel that the Army made them men of quality and will benefit them the rest of their lives.

Welcome and thank you for raising patriotic Warriors to servie our country. Your 32 years of service on the force clearly provided a foundation upon which they are building their own careers. You are justifiably proud.

Welcome Sir.
You'll find that you are not alone here, there are a lot of LEOs among the membership and many parents here sharing the same concerns as yourself.

32 years as a Cop and your bragging about your sons? Sir, while Kudos to your sons you earned as much respect as they did. You served BIG time. And you raised them to serve. Excellent job. Truely excellent.
