In RIP Pending

Post by DRM »

Rangers,

We ran over to RIP today. I'm in RIP Pending until 27 Oct. We've been released until Monday at 2045. PT Test Tuesday morning, and then onward to usual details.

I'm extremely excited and anxious to be in RIP. When we ran past the sign for RSTB, I had the biggest grin on my face. I'm here and I couldn't be happier.

I know what I have to do. Now I just have to do it.

Driving on,

I have a feeling we'll be changing your title by the end of the year.

I'd wish you luck, but you don't need it. Just go and get it done.

*EDIT: After some thought, I've realized that a more appropriate response would have been:

Ranger RTO,

Testicular fortitude: CHECK

Received PM from DRM:

Joe,

Passed the PT test this morning. 50 pushups, 60 situps, and a 13:50 on the run. 6 pullups after. Now, you're probably wondering why just over 70% for almost every event? I got to experience the awesome "41, 41, 41, 41, 41, 41, 41..." and "52, 52, 52, 52, 52, 52..." for the pushups and situps. (respectively) It was just one of those mind games. The grader let me up when he saw me smiling and just wrote down those scores. Haha.

The standards for the PT test have changed to get into RIP. Now, it's 60% on the PUs/SUs and 70% on the run, followed by 4 pullups. It's cake.

I turned down 10-days of leave. First, I haven't earned enough leave yet and I don't want to go into the hole already, and I also want to stay here and work out in the gym. It's free, and there's also a pool. I also have one of the GST books from a guy who failed RIP...he gave it to me on his way out the door this morning.

We've had around 8 quit so far. Mostly soft skill, but 2 11B's have dropped the course. More room for my rucksack, I say.

I'm still having a blast. Although the details suck ass, I'm liking the PT and just being around Rangers is a motivator.

RLTW,
