Rangers and whomever else cares,

My name is Nick, I'm currently with 10th MTN. Recently back from a 15 month fun-in-the-sun tour to the ME. Little background on me, been in the Army for almost three years now, I started off as an 18x but quit during SOPC (still regret it) but I'm working hard on rectifying that as I am attending SFAS in February.

Just here to learn a bit to better prepare for SFAS and eventually Ranger school and to become a better soldier and leader.

At least your honest about quiting. But just to let you know, most members take a dim view of quiting and quiters. So tread lightly, read all the FAQ's and what not and your stay here will be more pleasant.

Ranger The Holmchicken,

I'm tracking what you're saying. I'm not gonna try and make any excuses for it. It was a long time ago and I've learned a great deal about myself because of it. I've never felt like such a POS in my life like I did that day so all I can do is continue to train and drive on to acheive my goals so I never have to feel like that again.

Winners never quit and quitters never Win

I know that phrase is over used and a cliche now, but as a 19 year old Army Private shivvering my ass off in RIP I remember seeing that phrase through the window, written on the wall behind the stair well in the RIP barracks. It had a special meaning for me, I took it to heart. I remember seeing it again 7 months later when I was in Pre- Ranger and smiling at its simple truth.

Remember that this time in SFAS. Second chances are rare, make sure you make the best of yours.

Good Luck!
