Hello ArmyRanger.com

Post by Good Kid »

Hello Army Rangers i would like to introduce myself.
My name is Matt . I live in Connecticut in a small town called Deep River. I have always had the highest respect for our nations warriors, in particular the Rangers. I have always had a dream of serving with the best since i was a little kid. I have been talking with a recruiter for several months, taken the asvab (82, 120 GT) and the physical. I am now pursuing an option 40. I just graduated Valley Regional High School in Deep River, i am 18 years old. I have been training for months for a chance at R.I.P.
I do 5 mile runs 4 times a week and i have lowered my 5 mile time to 32:30.
I know i am young but i would like a chance to prove that i have what it takes. Any advice from you fine men is appreciated.
Respectfully,
Matt

A lot of us were 17 when we went in. It is very possible.

Welcome Good Kid. Looks like you're a runner. You did 5 6 1/2 minute miles if my calcs are correct. How are your pushups, situps and pullups?

Matt,
A man has only one opportunity to make a favorable initial impression. Considering your age and experience, I think you should do all right. If you wish to earn a place in the 75th Ranger Regiment, you came to the right place. Please read all the FAQs, as well as selected stickies and threads. I see the DEP welcoming committee has already contacted you, so you should be off to a good start. Finally, you need to pay more attention to your written efforts -- attention to detail is a critical skill. Never, never quit.
