Introduction

Post by BenningBrat »

Hello,
My name is Chris. I am a senior in college. I had intended to enter the Army through ROTC but I believe enlisting and serving as a Ranger will give me better opportunity to improve myself to my fullest potential. I am considering enlisting in two years with an Option 40. I am not sure what MOS I will choose but I look forward to the challenge of being a Ranger. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the forums. I plan to read as much as possible (search more, post less).

I scored a 76 on my recruiter’s practice ASVAB. I am not in my best physical condition (2mi. 14:45, PU 40, SU 50) but I am taking every opportunity to improve. I do push-ups and sit-ups everyday (among other exercises), ride my bike back and forth to work, and run when time permits. I plan to max both my ASVAB and APFT scores before enlisting. I believe these goals are within my potential and I have the self-discipline to meet them.

I thank you for the guidance that has been posted on these forums. I will do my best to follow the advice and instructions given to me.

Nice intro Chris. Thanks for your desire to serve our great country as an Army Ranger. Read study & learn here from the best, and then get those PT scores up to the max. Good luck to you.

Benning Brat,
Good intro, I think you're headed in the right direction. Recommend at least some level of enlistment before O-time, will help to keep you grounded in the future. You'll be one step ahead of the game on your west point/ROTC contract in the aspect that you will know what life is like on the bottom. Not to mention that you SHOULD have your tab by the time you get to OBC. Good luck.

Change your Sig Line.

You not even a DEP yet. You should not have the word 'Ranger' anywhere near your sig line.

Carry on.

Welcome, Chris, a man has only one opportunity to make a favorable initial impression. Yours is acceptable. However, remove Ranger from your sig line. My questions are: What are you doing to improve your PT state? When do you intend to enlist?

If you really want to serve in the 75th Ranger Regiment, you came to the right place. Please read all the FAQs, as well as selected stickies and threads. Most of the questions you may have can generally be found using the search feature.

Ranger Cams,
I have corrected my Signature Line. I will be more careful to show proper respect in the future.
