Welcome to our site! Thanks for your service.

Subs are cool. I've been pretty close to the crews of the USS Nebraska. Got an overnight trip out into the Atlantic. Even drove her! (Didn't run into any tankers either)

If you should ever get the chance to take a family cruise or a Tiger cruise like RangerRon don't pass it up. Pretty interesting and they don't come around very often. If the crew is any good at all you might be impressed at the teamwork displayed getting underway and submerging/surfacing the boat.

As far as submarine tactics go I haven't much info. I was in the engineering department and alot of that info wasn't need to know for me. Both those boats are razorblades now and the Shark was long in the tooth when I came aboard. If you have a question on how a boat operates I can probably answer that but the sneaky/spook stuff is mostly speculation. The only tactics I'm familiar with were used on liberty.

Thanks for the welcome!
It was a great cruise. About 24 hours. Went out a hundred miles or so I think. Went down and did "Angles and Dangles". I happened to be up in the sail when the sun came up. Watched the dolphins in the bow wake through the periscope. Also got a nice tour of the training facilities at Kings' Bay. Pretty impressive!

Welcome Bubblehead....I am sure you know the "Razorback" is at North Little Rock. Seems as though the mayor is trying to start his own Navy.
