Ranger Handbook - SH21-76 Which one? 1988 1992 1998 2000

Post by getoutatheway »

There are several editions printed, 1988, 1992, 1998, and 2000.

I have read some comments that the 1992 copyright is the best. I however would appreciate comments and opinions from those who have read these.

I have placed the photos of the manuals below that I was able to find.

Sorry, none of the above. You want the 1756 edition When Roger's Rangers came about. There is a special strap placement on the back of the ruck for your hatchet.

Sad thing is I thing I have all of those editions minus the '88. Big differance between them is they keep getting updated. Always use the latest edition but the rest are good for referencing.

Remember in the dictionary under redundant it says 'see redundant'

I "grew up" with the yellow 98 version.......

The green version was given to us at RS.

Personally, I like the yellow one just because I am more familiar with it. But the green one is good, and like Ranger BRanger91 said, always go with the most current one.

Of course I had the first one shown, still do. I lost the staple along the way. Now I have to keep it in a plastic zip-lock.
