I'll say I never served as a Ranger but I respect you guys to the fullest. I served as a regular 'leg' grunt from 1990-1994 and civie life didn't really agree with me and I re-joined...(not re-enlisted) in 1999...I still held my B4 ASI from the years previous...dang near six-year break in service and I needn't attend basic and AIT again because of the B4 and some other stuff...AAMX2 ARCOMX3 as an E-4....I know I don't rate a Ranger and I probably never will. I was medically discharged in 2003 for reasons I don't want to discuss...as I am ashamed. Anytime I ever saw a Ranger running by I went to 'parade-rest' and shouted good morning/evening Ranger...that is how it is for me.

Welcome. I noticed that you posted before inquiring about your Fatner's service in VIet Nam. I suggest you go to the 75th Ranger Regiment Association site, look up the Unit Directors for the 173rd and 101st Rangrs/LRRPs and e-mail them for info. If you need additional help, PM me.
