Hey everyone,

I stumbled on to this site from a post over at socnet.

I was born in the US('81), moved to Canada when I was 3.

Currently in the canadian forces. Been in since 2001. Did security/patroling for the G8 in 2002, a roto with recce platoon to Bosnia 2003.

Sick of our militarty and the politics that go with it and so now I am currently in the process joining the US Army. Was originally only going if I got option 40 but my recruiter is telling me that it may actually be easier to get option 18 in my contract (since BHD came out every new kid on the block wants to a ranger). So we'll see.

Right now I am waiting for my social security number to come through, which was suppose to take 3 weeks we are now at 6. Once I get that I can continue with the application process.

Hope this was short enough, but if anyone has more questions just ask.

Thanks guys, its amazing I never found this board in the past (SOCNET has a lot of data to sift through). This is a wicked resource and all the kiddies at my other home should come here first and read everything before asking stupid questions.

Just found out I will have my social security number within the next two weeks!

Which is perfect timing because next weekend is my units "big" 3 day ex down in Ft.Lewis. So I go on the ex and after post ex drills, I turn in my kit and say seeya, a few days later my ssn comes in the mail and I immediately call my recruiting Sgt. and we head on over to MEPS.
