TexasRich Intro

Post by TexasRich »

ood Evening, Rangers

Just another OC hoping to listen and learn from you.

I am currently an Officer Candidate in the Texas Army National Guard, OCS Class 49 (in progress) I am a prior service Army Reservist. I enlisted when I was 17 years old in 1985 and served a 6 years as a TPU soldier and 2 yrs in the IRR. I was discharged in 1993. I joined the Texas Army National Guard last year to attend OCS. I'm currently 37 years old, one of the older guys in my class but I find I'm able to hang with the younger guys pretty well. I am currently assigned to the 636th MI BN at Camp Mabry TX. I am undecided about my branch pref's. I'm unsure about requesting infantry due to my age. I'll be nearly 40 by the time I go through my OBC. Any advice from any of you regarding 40 year olds going to RAP is welcomed.

I'm the Admin on the ArmyNGOCS site and a Mod on the OCS site as well.

Wow that's weird...I was 18 in 1985! I'm still doing it (albeit in a semireduced capacity) get busy or STFU. Life is full of excuses it takes a man to ignore them!
