Arctic is derived fro arktikos, Greek for "of the North", or more literally, "of the [constellation] bear". Arctic Circle is derived from the fact that the Big Dipper never sets. Antarctic means opposite of Arctic.

In a bizarre coincidence, there are no polar bears in the Antarctic, only the Arctic.

I just read some of the stupidest shit I have ever seen in my life. On Facebook someone just posted about a group on the board called "Wear something pink on Feb. 25th and take a stand against Bullying"

I think I'll start a counter group and call it, "I'm going to take a stand against bullying by teaching my kid that anyone who confronts him in a hostile way is asking to get their ass kicked by any means necessary and I'll show him how to do it."

I dunno, too PC?
