I was thinking about this the other night, and the only LRS unit outside of SMU territory that i know of during my time in the Army that actually did recon missions was V Corps ( E51st) from Germany. They were running ops in the Balkans in the late 90's/ early 2000's, then were active in Iraq, before and after the invasion. I think it goes back to most commander's lack of willingness to find the ground truth and risk a team being compromised or over ran, when they have the air truth that doesn't risk anyone.
Does any one else know of any units that were active in the current conflicts, other than SMU's?
would be a school for SF, RRC, LRS
