Hello Rangers and Forum Members,

My name is Richard and I'm 19 years old, currently at Fort Lee, Virginia studying to be a Paralegal Specialist. I obtained an option 40 contract with my heart set out on becoming an Airborne Ranger. I've come a decent way from where I started, with my first BCT PT test coming in at 181. My most recent PT test here at AIT in Fort Lee was for a total of 286.
Pushups: 61
SItups: 81
2 mile run: 12:40

My pushups are low but I have been training consistently to make sure I'll do better next time by adding different pushup training regimes. I want to be an Airborne Ranger and I know I need to work extremely hard, and that's what I'm set out to do. I graduate in 15 days and then I'm off to Jump School so I still have a little time to get some more work done, PT wise and studying Ranger History/Knowledge wise. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I want to be a Ranger because I want to joined a brotherhood full of highly motivated Soldiers. I can't imagine how great it must be being around people who want to work as hard as you and can just constantly push each other to do better and feed off each others energy. I don't like half-assing and I love to work hard, it's so satisfying looking back at a job and saying I did my best and it turned out pretty well. I love motivating others and I love pushing people to do their best as well. When everybody is trying their best and everybody is doing the right thing, success and excellence is usually a product of it. That is what I believe the Rangers are all about and that is what I want to be a part of.

Sorry Ranger Jim, I'm still at AIT so i don't have a lot of time to read the entire thread but I'm working on it. I recently purchased a Ranger Handbook and have begun studying it as well. I'm graduating in 9 days, I'll try to fast forward in completing the tasks in the meantime and while im at Airborne. I'm still conducting PT and getting stronger as well.

Welcome, you've got a short period of time to be ready for RASP. Don't waste this slot, get yourself physically and mentally ready, memorize the Ranger Creed and start living by it. Give everything you've got, every time you give and never, ever quit! RLTW

Conducted my first ever timed 5 mile run at 36:13. Felt great, lots of room to improve.
