INTRO-Benny
Good Day all, it’s around 15:00 my time and would like to introduce myself. I am Benny I am currently on my second Deployment, and first Reenlistment. I am SPC Promotable 91b wheeled vehicle mechanic out of 5th SFG. My first duty was with the 307 airborne engineers later then transferd to 3bct 82nd at bragg . I have submitted my packet for RASP 1 last month and waiting for orders. I found this site from an SSgt who was with 3rd BAT and thought it would be a good idea to see if I can find out more about being a mechanic in Regiment?

Welcome Benny.
I'm curious as to your motivation for leaving sf to go to regiment.
Is there something you don't like about your current post?
Not saying it's a bad thing, just curious as I always saw sf as my end goal if I were to have stayed in the army.

Re: INTRO-Benny
Let’s start off with why I left Bragg. I wasn’t with 82nd for too long and I noticed allot of thing I didn’t agree with, I was normal Soldier who excelled at pretty much every aspect with minimum effort. I wasn’t in shape and was still out pt’n everyone. Friends I knew pretty much said Group was the place to be for Support guys with all the deployments and career progression opportunities, so I reenlisted to try it out. Being at group is not what I want to do. I am not a Green Hat and the opportunity to be in group has opened my eyes about what they actual do, and to be honest I don’t want to that. Well I guess what I’m trying to get out of regiment is the constant training and not being the lame Support guy I want to be Ranger . From what I have been told from my former Rangers buddies it that everyone is the same and passed the same selection regardless of MOS, very one fights even Support.
