Introduction of Kahuna22

Post by Kahuna22 »

I'm glad I found this site while doing some Ranger research.

I volunteered for the 1st Bn (Ranger) 75th Inf in 1976, as the Fire Support NCO. It was a great assignment and I loved every minute of it. In '79 I went to the Army Warrant Officer Flight School and graduated as a Cobra pilot. Later as an Apache pilot in the Gulf War I was working with a LRRP team from the 101st and found a fellow Ranger from the old days. I retired in '96 and worked as a DAC at Rucker training Longbow pilots. Last year I took a contract job in Iraq flying the Shadow for Special Ops. Once again, another great gig working with great guys. Now I'm at a desk writing lesson plans for the Aviation Branch. My deepest respect to the Rangers in todays Army.

The way I became a Ranger and have earned the small amount of success I have had in life has been mostly due to one quality - determination. Lefty.

I don't know Tony Anderson. Do you know what he flew? I was an attack pilot and really only associated with gun pilots. Not that I have anything against lift pilots, but gun pilots are a different breed.

Well damn.... WELCOME! As another former 1/75 Fire Supporter I appreciate your blazing the way for me. I just left Rucker a little over a year ago but I am only couple hours away in Tallahassee so if you are down this way gimme a holler.

I beleive Ranger Ely is still there at the SERE Course so tell him Gorski said "Hey" if you run into him (I'll warn you though, don't coin him unless you're prepared to pay up 8) ) at least you will have another 1st Batter there to link up with.
