Dammit, I seriously hate my generation.

A girl on a bike got hit by a bus I was riding this summer. She was helped immediately of course, and she was conscious. But there was still some fuckhead on the sidelines taking a picture with his cellphone.

That situation alone revealed several reasons of why I'd like to join the military. To not be like that moron is one of them.

Wait till you go down range and half the morons in your patrol are taking pictures instead of scanning their sectors...and vids..... :?

My son at OSUT even has a FB Page! Complete with Moms' pleading, Girlfriends kniving, Soldiers waving while push upping, and DS' posting! Its unreal.

My husband has had sailors under his command post about their illegal activities on facebook. They were able to use it to get them out of their unit. People who don't think before they act deserve what they get.

There is a very, very small percentage that will get involved in anything in the world, and they are the ones who change it. In the case of the wolves, they change it for the bad. The sheepdogs change it for the good. The rest, that huge oblivious mass of sheep, just plod along in their lives, doing nothing of any real consequence, and posting it all every few seconds on Facebook, as if the rest of the world gives a shit what they think.

It is delusions of fame and ego. In a generation that has been told "you are someone special" and has their self esteem stroked every few seconds, it is obvious and natural that they all think that the world can't wait to see what they will post next.

This is why I don't facebook, myspace, twitter, or anything else. Hell, sometimes keeping up with you fuckers is too much due to the demands of my real, actual life.

On the other hand, I'm on staff duty today so I don't have much to do anyway.
