Calling for Help

Post by FtBraggTACP »

Gentlemen,

My careerfield has recently lost a JTAC, and his ROMAD was injured, on Sunday in Afghanistan. Brad Smith (JTAC) came to the 14th ASOS shortly after I had returned from Iraq in 2007.. Myself and a few other guys took him under our wing and spent months, training him, eventually to certify him combat mission ready. I shared some good times with this warrior, on and off duty, and still can't believe that he is gone. From the words I am getting from down range, Brad and Mike gave the enemy hell, and showed no fear in this attack. Brad is currently being submitted for a Silver Star for his actions on the ground that day.

Brad at 24 years old left behind a young wife, Tiffany, and a 7 week old Daughter, Chloe. Mike (his ROMAD) is currently in stable condition at Walter Reed medical center. I call on all of you to ask your help in this terrible time for these families. Brad is a true hero, like many others here, that fought this nation's battles with no regard for his own personal safety, his family deserves to be taken care of.

We have also recently learned that the Westboro Baptist Church has put their sights on Brad's service and plan on rallying during the funeral. They have since updated it to their schedule on their website here: http://www.godhatesfags.com/schedule.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Please spread the word to whoever you know that may want to attend or donate to the families. The information on the service is as follows:

11 Am Monday, 11 January
Bethel Baptist Church,
7775 CollinsVille Rd,
Troy Ill, 62294

I am currently driving from Hurlburt Field , FL to IL as I type but can provide any other information you may like. I can be reached at Info@usaftacp.com

Thank you, and God Bless

Thanks for the heads up about the funeral. I presume that the Patriot Guard affiliate in Illinois is already prepping to shield the funeral from the heathens. Wish I could be there.
Prayers out for that wife & child.

Jarred,

I sent a donation for $100 to the family. My last unit in the military was the 118th ASOS and I was a driver for a JTAC in Ramadi in '05. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you need something. I'm here in NC just left of Chapel Hill.

With deepest sympathy for your loss.
