Tell him that if he quits, he is to go somewhere else for Christmas leave.
Then move & leave no forwarding address, you wouldn't want such a gullible quitter to pick your nursing home someday.

I'm so appreciative of all your additional comments. My son has read every one of them thus far, thank God for I phones and email. Just spoke w/him and they have an Airborne class of 123. The Ranger liaison told them their class will be the last RIP 4-week before they start the RASP 8-week in January. AB graduation scheduled for 11/20 so IF RIP begins that same day, he might be home for Christmas I guess? Guess there's always the chance they won't start till Jan. still.
